Our client is a Leader in Online Media, Social Networking, Internet space. They need a Database Administrator ( MySQL ) as per JD below.

Job Title : Database Administrator ( MySQL )

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for architecting and administering company’s multi server clustered database. Challenges will include
• Database deployment and providing deep forensic analysis for problem solving
• Providing innovative technical solutions for performance optimization
• Forming database, query and procedure design guidelines, and working with the development team to implement the guidelines
• Backup and recovery strategies, DR planning and execution
• Continuous technical upgradation.

You will also be responsible for
• Setting database configuration and change management policy guidelines,
• Managing database change activities,
• Ensuring continuous health of the database
• Automating monitoring for management by exception and Incidence response.

Skills and Competencies
• Proven and deep competence on MySQL Server 2005. Knowledge of setting up and managing clustered databases a must.
• Knowledge of data modeling and DB optimization
• Knowledge of Microsoft .Net 2.0 environment
• Deep competence on database access using ODBC, JDBC
• Drive, achievement, quality and service orientation
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Ability to define, implement and follow standards and procedures, evaluate problems and take appropriate actions
• Ability to document and communicate system performance using documentation standards

Qualifications and experience
• Engineering Graduate (Computer Science/Electronics preferable)
• 2-4 Years in the IT Industry with relevant experience and skill sets as above
